Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 July 2026
These terms cover your use of Cadence ("Cadence") — the web app at https://familycadence.app and the Cadence iOS app. By using Cadence you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Cadence is
Cadence is a shared organiser for one household: chores and rotas, one-off fixes, a shopping list, a family calendar, life skills for kids, and optional pocket-money style rewards tracking. It is an organisational tool — it does not move, hold or transfer any real money.
Your account
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live (generally 18+) to create a household. Children use Cadence under a parent's household and supervision.
- You're responsible for keeping access to your email and passkey secure, since these sign you in.
- Provide accurate information, and keep your household's members up to date.
Households and who can see what
Data you enter belongs to your household and is visible to the members of that household. A parent can add, edit and remove members, and can see and change all household content. If you invite someone, you're choosing to share your household's content with them — invite only people you trust.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Cadence. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process and display it back to your household so the app works. You're responsible for what you enter — including that you're entitled to store any third-party details you add (for example a tradesperson's or a doctor's contact details).
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use Cadence unlawfully, or to store unlawful content;
- try to access another household's data, or probe, scan or breach the service's security;
- disrupt or overload the service, or scrape it automatically;
- upload malicious code, or misuse the invitation system to send unwanted email.
Rewards and money features
Wallets, allowances, rewards and the Summit financial figures are record-keeping only. Cadence does not process payments, hold funds, or transfer money between anyone. Any actual payment between a parent and a child or helper happens outside the app, and is entirely between them. Nothing in Cadence is financial advice.
Third-party services
Some features rely on third parties — Google Calendar (optional), and an AI search provider for the "What's On" events and skill suggestions. Those features depend on services we don't control and may change or stop working. AI-generated content (event listings, suggested skills) can be inaccurate or incomplete — check the details before relying on them, especially before buying tickets or travelling. See our Privacy Policy for what is shared with whom.
Availability
Cadence is offered as-is and is still actively being developed. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and there may be downtime. We don't guarantee that data will never be lost — keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cadence is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of Cadence. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Ending your use
You can stop using Cadence at any time, and can ask us to delete your account and household data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if we need to for legal or security reasons.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app develops. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be signalled in the app where appropriate. Continuing to use Cadence after a change means you accept it.
